Company events must not be embarrassment events

Many companies organize an event because "that's how it's done". This missing concept runs through the entire planning and is reflected in the success of the event. Actually nobody is satisfied and some employees think with horror that another event should take place. You want to avoid that, don't you?firmen-veranstaltung_m.jpg

Follow a clear concept

Think about what the event should support or what purpose the event should have:
- Do you want to present a new product?
- Is it pure public relations for you?
- Would you like to improve the working atmosphere or support team building?

Always consider organizing activities other than an event. It is usually better to present a product at a trade fair. Press releases or the distribution of samples are also preferable to a festival when it comes to launching a product. Large automotive groups present new cars at the IAA, not as part of a company event. The best way to spread knowledge about low-priced products such as detergents is to give out samples.

If you want to do public relations to make your company known, consider whether the local limitation to one event makes sense. It is certainly ideal for the local supermarket, but if you operate nationwide, a local festival is rather pointless. However, if your goal is to improve local acceptance of the company headquarters, then an open house can still be useful, even if you find your customers more nationally or even worldwide.

Company outings are supposed to improve the working atmosphere , but is this really true? Some employees don't appreciate having to spend their free time with colleagues. The big Christmas party is often a chore. Targeted events that weld a team together should of course take place during working hours. A company party will certainly be greeted more happily if participation is not only mandatory, but also paid working time .

Choose a suitable event

The best way to accompany the opening of a sales branch or the presentation of the services of a local company is through a classic company party . Offer free or very cheap food and drink. For musical accompaniment, it makes sense to invite a DJ . Don't forget to offer an attraction. Raffles are always well received, a raffle box can help with this, for example.

If you organize a company family party , then games for children are indispensable. A bouncy castle ensures that the parents stay longer and get to know what you have to offer. The little ones won't leave the castle so quickly, which gives the grown-ups an opportunity to look around in peace.

Acceptance of a company increases when residents know what is happening there. An open day , where visitors learn a lot about the processes in the company, is ideal.

Team events and excursions can be helpful for team building. Make sure, however, that these never degenerate into big feasts. A lot happens under the influence of alcohol that later has a negative effect on the company. Choose events that strengthen team spirit, such as rafting together or climbing in a climbing park.

No shortcuts from targets

It is naïve to assume that an opening party is also an attractive event for employees. Therefore, make a clear distinction as to who should have the fun at the event . So it's best not to mix up the target groups, but to define it clearly and implement it consistently - should it be a company event for employees, a party for customers or a company event for business partners?
